Submit Your Virtual Read-Out Video

Thu, 08/23/2012 - 13:10 -- Banned Books Week

Submission Guidelines

Please submit your video under five minutes in length. Criteria for this year's Banned Book Virtual Read-Out have been updated. Check out the criteria page for more information.

  • YouTube/Google Account
In order to upload your video, you must have a valid YouTube account. CLICK HERE to create a YouTube account.
  • Check the sound.
If you have too much background noise, no one will watch it. Film the video in a quiet area.
  • Don't backlight.
The light should be on your face, not behind it.
  • Title and tag your video.
The title of your video should include "BBW Virtual Read-Out" or "Banned Books Week Virtual Read-Out." A good example is "BBW Virtual Read-Out: A reading from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" or "A reading from The Perks of Being a Wallflower for the Banned Books Week Virtual Read-out." Use tags to describe your video so that other people can find it — ex: "virtual read-out" or "banned books".
NOTE: YouTube playlists are for libraries, bookstores, educators, or any other organization hosting a Virtual Read-Out and uploading it to their own YouTube channel.
